A bit of history:
This series of rail vehicles built in the 1930s existed in various liveries, first in the colours of the PLM, then those of the SNCF. This model is based on a very early version, dating back to the origins of this type of railway equipment.
TheBacalan-type passenger carriages were put into service between 1929 and 1931 by the PLM. The Paris Lyon Méditerranée company had ordered 185 of them from the Dyle et Bacalan workshop, after extensive testing. Designed by OCEM, these vehicles represent a new generation of rolling stock that is less susceptible to corrosion. They are made up of 11 compartments, exclusively in 3rd class. They were therefore named Bacalan C11. At the time, they still bore the markings of PLM, which was nationalised in 1938.
